Black Friday is here, bringing with it deals on slow cookers, TVs, and yes, even theatre tickets. Resellers including TodayTix, LondonTheatreDirect, and LoveTheatre are advertising savings of up to 40, 60, even 70% off! Sounds like a great deal, right? Well it can be – but were not here to tell you about good deals, we’re here to tell you about the best deals. With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few “sale scenarios” to help you be a savvy shopper.
The Underwhelming Sale
Les Misérables is one of the most iconic musicals of all time, and it doesn’t regularly offer discounted tickets through a lottery or rush program. From that perspective, you could argue any sale is a good deal – but I’d hold your applause on the “23% off” sale TodayTix is offering.

Notice anything? That’s right – the £25 discount on TodayTix is really only £10 off the price of buying it from the theatre, even without a sale. For £95 , the Sondheim theatre also offers seats much closer to the stage, including some pretty darn perfect seats in rows C and D. The moral of the story? Compare with buying direct before biting on a sale.
The Good Sale (That Could Be Better)
Don’t get discouraged by the last example – there are definitely some better deals to be had out there. For example, both TodayTix and LondonTheatreDirect are offering £50-£55 seats in the front half of the stalls for Why Am I So Single?, a decent discount from the normal price of £75. There’s a little more to the story, though.

As you can see, it’s only LTD that’s offering sale tickets during the week of Christmas – the perfect time to see a show with family. And there’s something else you should know: Why Am I So Single offers £25 rush tickets via TodayTix, so there’s a better deal to be had if you’re not picky about dates.
The Real Deal
Let’s end on a high note. The Play That Goes Wrong is the longest-running comedy currently playing in the West End, and it’s side-splitting hilarious. It also doesn’t usually have deals, though, which means Black Friday is truly as good as you’ll get. For a random day in December, direct tickets in the center stalls are £82.50, but both LondonTheatreDirect and TodayTix have them for £55.

Hop on this one! And again – happy Black Friday, and happy bargain hunting.
