It’s way too hot this June – but what better way to get the out of the heat than the theatre? Official London Theatre’s annual “Kids Week” sale is a great deal for families looking to see new shows (or old favourites) this summer. Discounted tickets are available now for a smorgasbord of shows, from those aimed directly at kids (My Neighbour Totoro, Matilda) to classic shows (Les Misérables, Evita) and everything in between.
Tickets can only be booked direct from Official London Theatre’s website, with a flat discount of 50% off full price tickets so long as there are children (that’s anyone 17 or under) in your group. Kids “Week” is also a bit of a misnomer – many productions have discounted tickets throughout August and into the first week of September.
As an added bonus, several participating shows are offering workshops or talkback sessions for kids or families on select dates. A full list of these can be found here, including activities like a dance workshop from the dance captain of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and a post-show Q&A with the cast of Clueless.
Whether there’s a young person in your life who already loves theatre, or someone you want to introduce to the stage for the very first time, now’s a great time to do it. Just act quickly, as tickets go fast!
